Hi guys! I wanted to give you a bit of a wedding update. Remember the bridesmaids/groomsmen goodie boxes we made a few months ago? Well we wanted to do something similar for our ushers, so a few weeks back we bought them some alc, and I made them cards!
Clearly had to go with an Usher theme for the cards, get it?
All you need are some plain cardstock cards, scrapbooking paper, a sharpie, and some string.
The boys loved the cards, and we are so happy to have them join in on our special day.
As most of you know, I’m engaged, you can read how the proposal went down here! So apparently after you get engaged you are required to plan a wedding, who knew? Wedding planning has been a total breeze so far *knocks on wood.* We’ve booked a venue, found the perfect photographer, bought my dream dress, so we figured it was about time we asked some of our very favorite humans to stand up with us on our special day!
We wanted to put a little extra effort into it; a little pizzazz if you will. After a quick trip to Michaels, Binny’s, and Marshalls we were able to start crafting the perfect little goodie boxes to pop the question.
A little thought goes a long way, and that’s just what we had in mind when we were shopping for the trinkets. The boxes I made for my girls were pretty similar, with a bit of personal touches for each one.
They all got a pretty notepad, some speciality soap, a treat, a shot glass, and alcohol (because getting married is just throwing a giant party)!
I think my favorite part of putting these goodie boxes together was hand making all of the cards. I love getting a little crafty, so I spent a good chunk of time on them. What do you think?
I’m so so so happy/excited/grateful that all of my ladies agreed to the position! It was extra fun asking my twin sister (maid of honor), and my good friend who lives in Chicago because I got to see their faces light up and give them a big hug. I feel like I got a teeny tiny taste of how fiance felt when he popped the question to me.
I’m so excited for all of the fun memories in store for the four of us. 🙂
What kinds of things would you gift to your bridal party? I’d love to hear your opinions!
Hi Friends! We’re one (work) week into 2016, and I’m feeling pretty damn good. I’m on day 6 of Whole 30 and it’s going well. I thought I’d share a couple New Years resolutions. I know it sounds cliche, but even though it’s really just another month, there’s definitely a cleansing feeling that revolves around a ~new year~. Don’t you think? I also want to share some things I’m looking forward to in 2016!
- Complete the Whole 30 challenge
- Grow up, and stop making vodka diets my drink of choice
- Read 1 book a month. Not Harry Potter…
- MAKE more things (food, crafts, memories)
- Take candid pictures/bring my Nikon places
- Eat more veggies
- Assert myself #sorrynotsorry
Looking Forward To
- GETTING MARRIED!!!
- Feeling comfortable at my job (no longer a super newbie!)
- Summertime Chi, there’s no place like it
- Holidays (it’s pathetic, but I’m still sad holiday season 2015 is over).
This one goes out to all my past brides, brides-to-be, and anyone else who will be throwing a giant-ass party to celebrate the greatest human emotion – unconditional love.
One would think that such a pure and heartfelt event like a wedding would be mirrored by the industry that surrounds it. But you’d be wrong. Like really, really wrong. The entire industry is one HUGE up-charge. Venues clear well-over 5k, photographers are another 2.5k (minimum), and don’t even get me started on filming your special day. Want to feed your guests with tasty food? And maybe even give them a place to sit? – it’ll cost you about the same as a used car (if not more).
I’m only in the beginning stages of wedding planning, and I want it to be really fun! I want it to be a silly adventure, and I want the entire process to be like one longgg day dream. But, as the song goes “you can’t always get what you want.”
So please send good vibes, cash moneyz, or your services free of charge (looking at you photographers).
I’m so so so excited that I’m engaged to my BFF. It’s kind of crazy that he’ll be my husband pretty soon (no, we don’t have a date yet). I can already tell this engagement time will be SO fun! I can’t wait for all of the memories and celebrations this next year has in store for us.
The amount of love and support the fiance and I have received since our engagement has been nothing short of amazing. I feel so loved by all of my friends and family. Literally the best feeling.
So I guess we have to plan a wedding now… How does one even plan a wedding?! Hahaha, I’m sure once we get the venue it’ll be a lot less daunting.
Feeling lucky that I found someone who loves me so much that he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. We came into each other’s lives so long ago, and have really grown up alongside each other, I just feel so lucky to have met such an amazing dude.
Every time someone asks me to tell the engagement story, or gushes over my ring, I can’t help but feel SO giddy about it. I catch myself picturing myself walking down the aisle with my dad, exchanging mushy, meaningful vows with Logan, and celebrating a huge day with all of my favorite people. It’s just so freaking exciting!
This weekend I adventured to the suburbs of the suburbs for a wedding. Who doesn’t love a good wedding? The bride was beautiful, the decorations were on point, and there was an open bar, need I say more? I’m just going to make a little bulleted list of weekend wedding memories [twitter style].
- The bride and groom met each other when they were in second grade, but didn’t actually start dating until they were in college #preshtodeath
- The officiant’s breathing was SUPER distracting & very Darth Vaderish #lukeIamyourfather
- This wedding marks my first-ever run in with an open bar #REGRETS
- The party favors were as Midwest as can be #caramelandcheesepopcorn
- The DJ never played my song request! #foreverbitter
